Exceptionally clean place and efficient staff, loved stunning and lovely location. The room was unique and with an electronic key card, a work desk, and a TV set at your disposal, great view over a quiet beach. The beds with hypoallergenic pillows were good.

Intimate and fairly clean hotel, the staff who served us were polite, and it had exceptional location in the 'villagey "area of pedregalejo.

Perfect retreat for families
The rooftop terrace with a hot tub was a highlight for us, was like a mini-vacation every night. Watching the sunset while enjoying cocktails from the honesty bar made for lovely moments.
It wasn't exactly cheap, but still acceptable for what we got.

I liked the spanish atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff. The rooms were clean and confortable, with fresh fruit and mineral water every day.

Quaint hotel with lovely sea view if you can get an oceanview room. Nice rooftop deck with hot tub and fun pub/cafe under hotel that is open late into the night but is not noisy for hotel guests. In an area that caters to locals not so much tourists so get a flavour for the real Spain...loved the place...

The sea view from my room was amazing, complemented by lovely sheets and comfy beds. The roof terrace with its jacuzzi and honesty bar was a nice touch for relaxation after a day out. The parking situation was inconvenient, being far from the hotel, and the room felt somewhat cramped as the beds were singles instead of a double. While the decor was nice, it showed signs of wear that could use some refreshing.

The location - it is right on the beach, the seaview rooms are extraordinary! The neighbourhood is also great, very good restaurants around. This is already my second stay here and I am going to come back. Thank you!

This was my second visit to malaga, and i have to say the chancla exceeded my expectations for this birthday celebration. The fine sea view from our room was nice, and the dining experience each morning was good. Especially the helpful woman at reception.
the shower access was a bit awkward.

The location was fantastic - our room was directly over the beach with a view to Africa. The room was well soundproofed with electric persianas and modern windows. The room was clean and tidy. The bathroom was small but well equipped and I had an excellent shower. The hotel provided water in the room and extra pillows and blankets. The TV and aircon were good. The best thing was the spa terrace with a jacuzzi and loungers which looked out to the sea and mountains. The sauna looked good but it was 41 degrees that day so we didn't bother. Staff spoke Spanish and English. It was overall a great place to stay and we had the best view for Virgen Carmen parades. Also I don't know why people are moaning about the noise. It's as noisy as anywhere in Spain and you just need earplugs anyway - I found it rather quiet, especially considering the party weekend.
The hotel did not make it clear when we booked in that you have to pay 24 euros just to use the hotel loungers, which I thought was a bit much - it's not Ibiza! It's El Palo! The cafe was a bit dirty with food all over the floor (Four tables were completely dirty and the staff were chatting) and a lot of flies so we didn't eat there. However, it was OK - there are a million restaurants there so we just went down the road, where it was cheaper anyway. The brochure in our room didn't tell us anything about how to call reception, book a massage or if there was any room service so we didn't bother - we probably would have done if it was apparent. The decor in the halls is a bit dated compared to the rest of the hotel and the black/cuban figurines are a bit racist for international tastes - I am not sure how a black person would feel about them. I know they are acceptable in Spain but not in the UK or US for sure. I think La Chancla should just be itself and just be an El Palo hotel - it would do a lot better to just drop the fakery: this is Andalucia not the Baleares. We will stay again because of the positives but it would be nice to see a more Andalucian touch.

This is a wonderful hotel. Right by the beach, with a wonderful terrace and jacuzzi with sea view. The staff is very nice and helpful. I definitely recommend it.
The beach in which the hotel is located is not the best around.

I really enjoyed my stay. The hot tub experience and the lovely sea view from the restaurant added such a relaxing touch, but I was disappointed as it didn't match the vibrant atmosphere shown in the photos.

The sea view from our room window in the morning, before the crowds arrived, was wonderful. The bar/cafe had excellent service and a relaxed atmosphere. Loved the outdoor terrace overlooking the beach. If you are looking for a 'quiet' hotel and breakfast before 9.30am, this is not the place to stay at.

Great location right by the sea. Staff was friendly and the room was adequate. Right above a bar so good if you fancy being in the centre of the nightlife.
Room was a bit on the small side and the bed was a bit hard, apart from that it was fine.
